Update safely and send a useful report
Keep data during updates and give support evidence without sharing credentials.
Options depend on your plan, profile, installed build and provider. Understand access. Screenshots use fictional demonstration data; a preview layout can differ slightly from a public build.
#Update in place
Open Settings → Account & app → Updates to check the installed/latest version. Store builds use their store update path; supported direct-download builds offer the installer when available.
- Use the official update source for your build.
- Download the offered update and approve Android’s installation prompt.
- Install directly over your current app. Do not uninstall first.
- Open the app and confirm its version in About.
An installation error can mean insufficient storage, a damaged file or a different package/signature. Read the error before deleting data. The separate Documentation demo app is not the normal player update.
#Device report and diagnostics
About → Device report describes this box’s decoding/capability information. Send diagnostics controls automatic fault reports. Send a report to the developer is a deliberate manual report. Review the app’s own explanation of report contents; do not add passwords or personal playlist links to public screenshots.
#Make a report actionable
Reproduce the issue once, then send a fresh report while the app remains responsive.
- Note the exact app version, device model and approximate local time.
- Describe the steps: playlist switch, website credential edit, guide source change, or playback action.
- Include the playlist’s display name and loading state, not its secret URL/login.
- Tell support whether the app crashed, returned to the launcher, froze, or showed No playlist yet.
Send device identifiers privately to official support when needed. Do not repeatedly clear cache/data or reinstall before support can inspect the failure.
#Free storage without erasing settings
Android’s Clear cache removes temporary cache; Clear data/storage resets app data and is not the same operation. Delete only files you recognise and no longer need. Recordings/downloads can be large. Avoid deleting screenshots or media belonging to someone else merely because the box is low on space.
Still need a hand?
Tell us your version, device and what you tried. Keep credentials private.
